Neighborhood Endorsements

Laura Gross, Nebraska Avenue
For those of you in the newly redrawn ANC 3F-06 district, I wanted to let you know about one of the candidates, Courtney Carlson. I have lived in this neighborhood for 16 years, but have known Courtney for 26 years.
She was born and raised in DC and truly loves living here and our community. When she was in high school, Courtney worked at the Marvelous Market (now Little Red Fox) - so, she even knows the history of this neighborhood. Courtney knows our community, she knows our neighbors and most of all - she knows, understands, studies and is passionate about the issues that impact all of us. She has been involved in neighborhood issues - with a special focus on streets and sidewalks - since 2007. And was also a very involved parent for the Murch HSA - serving in many roles year after year.
I know Courtney will make a great commissioner and I would like to encourage you to vote for her.

I also want to voice my support for Courtney Carlson for ANC Commissioner for 3F-06. While I can't claim to have known Courtney for as long as the previous poster has, I have known Courtney for close to a decade. Courtney has always been a passionate advocate for our neighborhood. Courtney and I chaired a very successful Murch auction together a few years ago and I can attest that she doesn't just talk the talk, she also walks the walk. No one knows the neighborhood, the neighbors, and the local businesses more than Courtney. While she has strong opinions, she is infinitely reasonable and open minded. One of her strong opinions is the importance of caring for the planet. She looked into yard signs for her campaign, but when she learned that yard signs could not be recycled, she decided to go in a different direction. I've attached a photo of her campaign "leaflets."
I would strongly encourage all of my neighbors to vote for Courtney. She will be the voice on the ANC that we all need.

George Little, Brandywine Street
In Forest Hills DC, we’d be extremely lucky to have Courtney Carlson serve on the ANC. She’s strategic, pragmatic, & has a heart of gold that we desperately need in politics these days. And a bonus: she’s running a sustainable campaign worthy of the neighborhood she’ll represent.

Robert and Jill Shalett, Jenifer Street NW
We are enthusiastically supporting Courtney Carlson for ANC 3F-06.
We’ve known Courtney as a long-time resident and neighbor as fellow parents and volunteers at Murch. Courtney understands our neighborhood: our safety issues, transportation concerns, and the challenges of businesses in Ward 3.
Courtney gets the situational nuances of Forest Hills, Chevy Chase D.C., and NW DC in general.
We are voting for Courtney for ANC and encourage others to consider voting for her too. She’s as an effective advocate who listens to all sides and knows how to get things done.

Andrea Molod, Former ANC 3FCommissioner
I would like to endorse Courtney Carlson as the next ANC rep for ANC3F06. When I was ANC rep for this district (formerly ANC3F05), I worked with her on a few issues (mainly safe pedestrian routes to school in our neighborhood), and found her a tenacious advocate for this important issue. She interacted with council and city officials and contributed substantially to the eventual addition of sidewalks and a crossing guard. Courtney’s presence on ANC3F will help our voices be heard in city agencies and on the council.
